In this 4-week course, you’ll develop your own customized movement skills toolbox. Through guided movement recipes and group games, you’ll start to recognize what’s already working in your body and uncover new ways of expressing it. Lots of light-hearted experimentation and investigation to connect with styles of movement unique to you.

If you’re a dancer, this will change your practice.
If you don’t think you’re dancer, this might just change your mind.

We’ll play with things like:

  • Body Awareness: sharpen interoception + exteroception (what do you actually feel?)

  • Body as Instrument: where form meets function in everyday life

  • Elements of Movement: the raw “ingredients” that make up every movement

  • Music as Muse: connect sound with sensation to be moved by the music

  • Kinesthetic Art: creative movement that feels good, not just looks good

  • Being Seen: finding comfort in the visibility

  • Movement as Medicine: applying what we learn to other areas of life

Come as you are — no dance experience needed. Just curiosity and a willingness to move and be moved. You will receive weekly “DIY practice” suggestions, along with the opportunity to be supported in your own particular movement goals.

Those in power want to keep us numb. Practicing joy-filled movement is an act of Resistance; doing it together is a Social Movement. Each week, you’ll leave feeling more connected, more inspired, more you.

This course is produced and facilitated by Kate Spacek and Marcus Siregar, and is a project of Movement of Belonging (MOB).
